Welcome to Happy Bump, all your birthing needs.

Here at Happy Bump we are committed to offering research based pregnancy education. Our classes are run by practicing midwives, who have both research based knowledge and personal experience, to help guide you through this magical time.

We offer antenatal and postnatal classes, as well as one to one sessions in Hampshire and the surrounding areas. Our classes are lively, informal and offer a great opportunity to relax whilst learning, and of course make some new friends.

If a group environment is not for you or time is running out, we can offer the full antenatal course on a one to one basis in the comfort of your home.

One to one appointments can also be booked at any stage of your pregnancy or after the birth. Whether you want to discuss previous birth experiences or talk to a midwife at the early stages of the pregnancy, Happy Bump is here for you.

We offer a free initial consultation for those of you wanting to meet a Happy Bump midwife and discuss further how we can tailor our services to your needs.

Please note the service we offer is intended to run alongside the NHS model of care.

My name is Chris Rackley, I am a registered midwife and nurse currently working for a local NHS Trust in Hampshire, providing care for antenatal, labouring and postnatal women.

I have been a qualified nurse for 9 years and a qualified Midwife for 6 years. I am a member of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT) and the Royal College of Nurses (RCN). My practice is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

I have a broad experience in all areas of midwifery care including labour ward, midwifery led unit, community/GP based midwifery and case loading midwifery. In my career as a midwife I have received three nominations for the 'Mamas and Papas midwife of the year'. I chose midwifery as my career, when I witnessed a birth at the age of eleven. The excitement and joy I experienced then remains with me every time I help birth a baby. Pregnancy and birth is such a magical time for all involved and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to be part of these special moments.

I have witnessed firsthand, how being well informed, with a balanced variety of information, can lead to a very positive birthing experience. Good education and understanding can empower decision making and also enhance feeling in control.

Chris appeared on the second series of the channel 4 documentary One Born Every Minute. You can watch episode 4 in full on 4OD

My name is Lisa Fall, I am a registered Midwife and I currently work alongside Chris for a local NHS trust.

I have been a qualified midwife since October 2009 and I am a member of the RCM and FEDANT. My practice is regulated by the NMC. I have two children, Harry, 8 and Hermione, 6.

I have a varied experience of all aspects of midwifery including labour ward, midwifery led unit, community and case loading as well as facilitating parent education within my area. Prior to commencing my midwifery training I worked in the obstetric theatres and as a breastfeeding peer support volunteer.

After leaving school I started work for a holiday company and stayed there until I had my son in 2003. I had such inspirational midwives that from the moment my son was born I knew I wanted to become a midwife. I know that pregnancy and birth are life changing experiences and I feel very proud to be a midwife and lucky to share such a special time.

I strongly believe that empowering women and giving them the support and information to make informed choices results in a positive outcome for women and their families
